Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. Overview

Dollar Mates Inc., an Ontario corporation (“DollarMates”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, the private-sector privacy laws of Canada’s provinces. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the DollarMates Canada website at www.dollarmates.ca (the “Site”), why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access, correct, or raise concerns about it.

This policy covers the Site only. OneID and Vicinzy will each publish their own privacy policy before they launch.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us. When you use the contact form on the Site — including to ask for early access to OneID or Vicinzy — we collect your:

  • name — so we know who we’re speaking with;
  • email address — so we can reply to you;
  • subject — so we can route your enquiry, including which product you’re interested in; and
  • message content — the details of your enquiry.

We may also automatically collect limited technical information (such as browser type, device type, and pages visited) through cookies and analytics tools — see clause 9. We do not ask for sensitive information through the Site.

3. How We Use It

With your consent, we use the personal information we collect to:

  • respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form;
  • if you asked for early access, tell you when OneID or Vicinzy opens, and about early-access places;
  • operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our products;
  • understand how visitors use the Site, using aggregated analytics; and
  • comply with our legal obligations and protect the security of the Site.

We only use personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless the law permits otherwise or you have consented. You can withdraw your consent at any time — for example, by replying “unsubscribe” to any early-access email — and we will stop contacting you about it.

4. Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information to third-party service providers who help us operate the Site and respond to enquiries — for example, our email provider, hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics providers — each bound by confidentiality and data-handling obligations appropriate to the information they handle. We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DollarMates, our users, or others.

5. Where Your Information Is Processed

The servers that run the Site are located in Australia, so personal information submitted through the Site may be stored and processed outside Canada, including in Australia, by us and by our service providers. When it is, it is protected by the safeguards described in this policy, but it may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement, and national-security authorities of the country where it is held, in accordance with that country’s laws.

6. Storage & Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information we hold from loss, theft, and unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected — for an early-access request, until the product launches or you withdraw consent — or as required to comply with our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or permanently de-identify it.

8. Access & Correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details in clause 10. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.

9. Cookies & Analytics

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies, along with analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve its performance and content. Most browsers let you control or disable cookies through their settings; disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Site function.

10. Complaints & Contact

If you have a question or concern about how we handle your personal information, or wish to make a privacy complaint, please contact us at support@dollarmates.com, or via our contact page. We will investigate and aim to resolve your complaint within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the privacy commissioner of your province where its law applies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the way we handle personal information. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect constitutes your acknowledgement of the updated policy.
